Are you familiar with Basilio Lepuschenko? This three run heater was built in 1982 in Postdam New York. It has been used as the primary heat source for 34 years. The home owner, who is now in her 92nd year, burns an arm load of well dried wood every morning. She closes off the upstairs of her small passive solar home so the masonry heater only has to heat the modest sized living room and kitchen. The sun and South facing windows do the rest. No windows on the East or West and only a couple small windows on the North side.
