Hi Norbert-

I'm checking out some alternatives to the American Clay.
The clay is nice but so soft and
lacking durability, even if easily repaired.
I've known of Japanese style plasters made with diatomaceous earth for
a few years, but haven't played with it yet.  I had some samples from
a supplier in NYC, but it was
expensive.  The Japanese have a super duper plastering tradition.
There's some natural builders in New Mexico who are super into and
import a really nice selection
of trowels www.landerland.com .  I have a bunch and they are excellent.
Attached is a zip file from the supplier in case you are
interested.  It's another nice option I think to have for design.

Best-
