5 ft Toneh oven by Stovemaster

Another fun project to share : a 5ft inside diameter Georgian “Toneh” oven – an oven similar in shape and style to a tandoori.
We built it for a Georgian baker. You can see traditional Georgian bread on the pictures: shoti (boat shape) and puri (round). Design followed my trial idea we tested at the Tandoori oven workshop at Wildacres 2013.
The oven is 52″ tall inside, first two feet under the ground level. Insulated with 4″ of ceramic wool and then brick facing with parging.
