San Francisco Baking Institute #180 teaching oven.
Completed in early October, 2003

Ben Sotero and his crew of Sotero Masonry from Aptos, CA, recently
completed the masonry work on a gorgeous installation of a model #180 le
Panyol oven at the San Francisco Baking Institute in South San Francisco.

The design for the oven installation was created by Ben Sotero, Timothy
Seaton
of Timely Construction in Camas, WA, in consultation with Evelyne Suaz from SFBI.
SFBI/TMB Baking are the new West Coast distributors for the le Panyol and
Romain ovens.  Timothy Seaton and Ben Sotero are gifted West Coast
masons, and members of the Masonry Heater Assoc., with previous
experience with the le Panyol oven cores.

Albie Barden of the Maine Wood Heat Co., Inc. flew in for several days to
assist Ben and Tim with the installation.

The oven has been fitted with thermocouples and will become part of the
on-going teaching programs at SFBI.  SFBI is regarded as a leading
teaching facility for artisan baking in North America.

People interested in classes with this oven or visiting the installation
