Subject: Vancouver Island Workshop pictures

Hi Norbert.
Here are some pictures from the workshop. It went great. We had 9 participants not including hosts and myself. We were able to complete the entire heater in the planned three days. The hosts, Kim and Lorne, were fantastic. Meals prepared by Kim for all of us where an absolute delight, not to mention that Kim provided all meals, not only lunch, which was a greatly appreciated extra treat for all of us.

Great place, great group of people, great conversations, great food..what can be better? Plus, the end result - a very attractive heater with cost of facing materials of about $150-200. Everyone was surprised that ordinary Home Depot pavers may look that good on a heater. Originally Kim and Lorne planned to stucco the heater, but now they have decided to keep it the way it is. Pavers where set in speed set thin set keeping joints very thin without back slush resulting in a pretty responsive heater with thickness of the facing of mere 2 3/4".

Thanks for all who participated for excellent dedicated work! They have made it happen!

Best,
Alex
